  Should Dub's seen doing street witnessing be shot on sight to put them out of their misery?

  working downtown today and i just saw two groups of jw's doing street work.

  the 1st pair was a coupla young brothers who reminded me of myself when i was young and dumb.. the 2nd set was a couple older brothers (guessing 30 or 40's) doing the green mile walk of death.

  i mean these 2 cats were walking at speeds reserved for those 73 and older.

  I was driving and slowed my speed down to observe their reactions as they passed 2 approaching pedestrians. The 1st was a woman on the heavy side...they did not say anything to her.

  The 2nd I could see was another woman who I did not think they were going to talk to, than one of the brothers turned and I am guessing began to make a preasentation. As I got closer I fully understood why he chose to talk to her (shorty was mad cute.)

  I continued on my way but could not help but reflect MY GAWD WHAT A WASTE OF ONES LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  Even after reading Crisis of Conscience, one thing (at least) still puzzled me

  it was several years back and from time to time i will look something up in the index.

  all manner of things about jw life are revealed - as well as discussions within the leadership, plus historical and contemporary controversies - but there is still something i missed.. please excuse me if this is not a detailed summary.

  when the drum roll starts for the purge, it appears that the friends and associates of ray franz are targeted first.

  Can the Borg close down a Kingdom Hall because of low attendance?

  the land for our hall was given to the congregation by a local brother.. the contribution box was overflowing with gifts of money from the brothers & sisters in the congregation when they knew we were going to have our 'own' hall at last.. we built it ourselves with help from brothers & sisters that donated their time & skills.

  we had a small loan from the borg to help us finish the project & this was paid off very quickly.. that must be 25 years ago now.. we were told by circuit overseers we would be blessed if we had our own hall & that the fine witness would bring many people in to the 'truth'.. it didn't.. we were never a big congregation, however when attendance went down to below 30 a couple of years ago, the circuit overseers wanted to close the hall down.. the elders protested & the hall is still being used.. can the borg close down a kingdom hall they haven't built & keep the proceeds?.

  why doesn't it belong to the people that paid for it?.

  As answered yes they can.

  Also they will close a KH if the congregations can not afford their KH remodeling scam

  I know of 3 halls here in detroit (in poorer neighborhoods) that were shuttered when the RBC came thru and suggested a remodel to them.

  attending an invite (strange we're invited but hoping to make it worth my while) but i don't want to suffer big consequences as i've already said enough wrong stuff.

  i'm stuck reading hassan's ccmc book (about half way --- just don't have time and not into it).

  I dropped a great one on a dub the other day. Was getting my oil changed and on the Today show they were talking about Tom Cruise scientolgy and all that crap. This lady sitting next to me was shaking her head and remarked 'that religion is a mess!'

  I corrected her "ALL religions are a mess!" while noticing the WT (kool aide version) in her lap. she ask if I am familiar with the JW's I tell her I served at bethel. She gets all bright eyed and ask what hall I go to?

  I get my big kool-aide smile on my face and tell her proudly I do not attend the KH no more! She says 'Oh you are disfellowshiped? Than I drop this jewel on her:

  NO! Why would you automatically think the worse of me?

  OH ya'll should've seen the look on her face! she starts stammering and back pedaling so I let her off the hook and say its ok its like a conditioned response programed into you! ;-)

  i couldn't believe that movie is playing in no less than ten theatres in cowtown where i live.. i just ordered my copy of "the amateur" and it was only $4.95.

  If thats the friend you talked/posted about in the past its the response you should have expected.

  A long time ago I realized there is no fraternization with witnesses. My wife after 5 years is finally starting to figure that out.

  Not to sound cold (but my name is frosty) JWs are brainwashed and you just dont know when that ticking time bomb of JW conditioning is going to kick in. Live your life enjoy you BF and tell us about some great trips and your learning experience at uni.

  A sure sign the End is Near....

  the end of the month, that is, and someone apparently needs to get their hours in.... this resourceful jw (in the left side of the photo) set up shop for a few hours outside a local starbucks, with a wt and awake laid out on a table.

  and i i don't think he talked to anyone the whole time he was out there (a few hours).. sure beats all that walking from door-to-door, which would likely result in a bunch of not-at-homes on a weekday: most people are at work.. (i approached him when entering, and asked him about the parable of faithful and "discreet" slave, and asked him what he thought the difference was between a parable and prophecy.

  after getting a non-answer (that basically meant he didn't know), i wished him a good morning and went on my way.... .

  but he doesnt have on a suit coat?!? how can he be a witness of jehovah and not have a suit coat on while witnessing in 90 degree heat?
